‘We love this story’: ‘Fingers crossed’ for future titles of The Witcher series
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was a game about magic and monsters, a game that helped to define the modern fantasy genre.
It was the game that inspired CD Projekt RED to create a new world and story for its first game.
But that story has been rewritten, as Geralt has become the subject of much criticism for his portrayal in the Witcher series.
In this exclusive interview, game director Marcin Iwinski discusses the new story and what we can expect from The Witcher 4.
What does Geralt do in The Witcher 2?
The Witcher is the first installment in the highly anticipated third Witcher trilogy, and it tells the story of a young man named Geralt of Rivia, a man who lost his parents when he was only two years old.
It’s a tale of redemption, of self-sacrifice, and of the promise of redemption.
What made you want to write a new story for Geralt in The Old Wild Hunt?
The first Witcher was a lot about finding hope and the promise that can be found in the darkest places.
Geralt is a character who we all aspire to be, and his journey is one that all of us should aspire to, as we try to do the best we can to be better human beings.
How do you feel about the reception of the first Witcher?
In terms of the reception, we’ve always been careful to make sure we didn’t feel too far from the core of the story, and we really wanted to make the game as close to its roots as possible.
What was the first thing that struck you about the first game, The Witcher?
That the world and the world of The Old World is so beautiful.
I think that it was that, in a way, it’s the most beautiful world we’ve ever seen.
What is it about The Oldest World that is so different from the rest of the world?
It is an incredibly deep, magical place, and I think it’s a great setting for us.
I love it so much, and so much more than I thought I would.
Is it important to keep that in mind when creating a new Witcher story?
Absolutely.
We always want to keep the core, but we also want to expand it.
The Witcher has always been about the Witcher.
It is the Witcher, it is the story.
We want to make it as different as possible from the other games, and The Old Old World has a lot of things that we think will make it even more unique than The Witcher, so that we can take our best elements from The Old Witcher and make it something that we’re really proud of.
What does it mean to create this world of such a large scale?
It’s really hard to create worlds in which you can put so much detail on such a small scale.
When you create something like this, you’re going to see how it looks, you’ll see how much you can fit, and you’ll start to see what the scale is like.
Do you think the story for The Witcher will continue to grow, or will it be a separate story altogether?
There are a lot more stories to tell, and a lot less to tell.
We’ve talked about how much we’ve expanded the world.
The Oldwild, where The Witcher came from, is a world that was much larger than the original Witcher game.
We’re creating a bigger world and a bigger place.
I’m sure that people who have read The Oldworld and played the first two Witcher games will know that there’s so much to learn from those two games.
The story is just starting to develop.
We have so much work to do.
Are there any particular projects you’re working on at the moment?
There’s no particular projects, but I’m really proud to say that we are currently working on a new expansion to The Witcher.
You were a major fan of The Elder Scrolls games.
Is there anything you’re looking forward to playing that you haven’t yet?
I’ve never played the Elder Scrolls series.
It just doesn’t seem to me like there’s anything special about them that appeals to me.
We did play some Elder Scrolls: Legends and it was really enjoyable, and there was something really special about those games.
It made me feel like I was part of something that had something to offer.
There are many games that have something to do with the Elder Gods.
There’s a lot to explore in The Elder Gods, so we’re looking to expand on that and make sure that we continue to deliver something new.
