‘Super Mario Brothers: The Golden Age’ trailer debuts at SXSW
NEW YORK — The trailer for “Super Mario Bros. The Golden Era” debuts Friday at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles.
The film, based on the 1989 video game series from Nintendo, tells the story of Mario and Luigi, a team of eight kids who play Super Mario Bros., in their first Super Mario World game.
It stars Michael Peña as Mario, Dan Stevens as Luigi, Kevin Kline as Yoshi, Amy Brenneman as Peach, David Koechner as Toad and Sam Rockwell as Bowser.
The trailer is set for release in the U.S. on March 20.
