EA Games confirms Star Wars Battlefront 2, Fortnite, Battlefield 1 and Madden 25 exclusives at E3
Posted April 18, 2021 07:00:04EA has confirmed its upcoming Star Wars game will have no DLC, but it’s not necessarily due to Star Wars Episode IX.
A tweet from EA’s official account today stated that the new Star Wars title would be released “at a later date”.
“In the near future, we will reveal the full details about Star Wars: Battlefront II,” the tweet reads.
“For now, you can expect that the game will be available at no additional cost.”
It’s not clear when Battlefront will arrive, but in an interview with Eurogamer, EA’s senior creative director Peter Moore confirmed the new title was not due to a “sequel” to Star War.
“The game that’s coming next year is not a sequel to Star Trek,” Moore said.
“I can’t really say that, but there will be a lot of new Star Trek.”
There’s a lot more content in Star Wars and Star Wars games than there was in Star Trek, and we want to keep making those games as long as possible.
“While it’s likely that Star Wars is not in the title of this new Star War game, there’s still hope that the next Star Wars movie will be revealed to the public at EPCOT, as well as the first film.”
The studio is also currently developing Star Wars Rebels, which will follow the events of The Force Awakens and Star War, and Moore said that while it’s “unlikely” Star Wars fans would be able to see a new film, it’s possible the series could return to the big screen.””
But they are not talking about a sequel yet.”

“A lot of Star Wars films are like Star Wars, they’re just like Star Trek with a little twist,” Moore explained.
“It’s a franchise that we love.”
If there’s a Star Trek movie that comes out in 2020, it would be awesome.
